At the moment, getting visibility into the queues is rather hard. It would be nice to have some kind of interface to interact with it.

what do you mean by visibility? ability to retrieve a list of running jobs or something like that?

if it would expose some api for that, we could display the jobs in the admin fe, which would be nice.
