The short_name field is a requirement? for installing to home screen (A2HS).
I am pretty sure it can just be the same as name.

MastoFE is unsupported as a Progressive Web App(PWA):

I have no way to properly test it
Offline caching feature have been stripped off because of bugs, rendering it even harder for a PWA to effectively work
No one so far stepped in to have MastoFE be maintained as a PWA.
