Request: Display 'bot' or similar on bot accounts

Basically a mirror of this new functionality in mastodon 2.4: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/pull/7391

Would the back end support it? I got a sample "friends.json" and I don't see any "bot" attribute. Also this is AP/Mastodon specific feature, but Pleroma-fe is tries to be GNUSocial compatible... So is there really a way to do this?

The backend supports it, look at pleroma!266 (merged) which adds it for the mastodon frontend.
