Media gallery is hard to close, video hard to play

Version: whatever is bundled in 2.5.0

some nitpicks about the new version:

• I start a video attached in the timeline by clicking it. Now that doesn't work, I have to hit the small play button.
• When having a picture open in the pop up gallery, I close it by clicking outside. Now when you click "too slowly" while moving the mouse a tiny bit, it's registered as a drag and instead of closing the gallery, it slightly moves it and then back. This is especially dumb when there's just one image and there's nothing to switch to by dragging anyway
