Environment info

  • Browser, version, OS, platform: Any
  • Frontend version (see settings -> about): 88f95e30
  • Backend version (see settings -> about): 2.6.3

Bug description & reproduction steps

Description: When User1 turns on notifications for User2 in User2's profile, User2 can remove User1 from followers. This does not turn off notifications for User1. User1 no longer has the option to turn off these notifications, due to PleromaFE using the same button for these functions. This is not an issue with federation.

Steps to Reproduce: User1 follows User2 and turns on notifications. User2 removes User1 as a follower. User2 creates original posts. User1 will continue to receive notifications for these posts without an option to turn them off.

Bug seriousness

  • How annoying it is: Fairly annoying.
  • How often does it happen: Very Rarely.
  • How many people does it affect: Potential to affect anyone using notifications for particular profiles.
  • Is there a workaround for it: Annoy the shit out of User2 with follow requests until he blocks User1.

That sounds like a back end bug, you should be automatically unsubscribed from user when follow relationship is terminated

Still makes sense to show button if subscribed status is on even if following isn't
