Environment info

  • Browser, version, OS, platform: qutebrowser 3.5.1, Brave 1.82.166
  • Instance URL: N/A
  • Frontend version (see settings -> about): 40eb565f2a
  • Backend version (see settings -> about): N/A
  • Browser extensions (ublock, rikaichamp etc): N/A
  • Known instance/user customizations (i.e. pleromafe mods/forks, instance styles etc): N/A

Bug description & reproduction steps

Steps to reproduce:

  • (Clear FE configuration/use private window)
  • Settings->Appearance->Show advanced options
  • Change sidebar size to 35 rem. Might also require a larger size depending on setup.
  • (Reloading FE might also be required)

image{width=460 height=114}
image{width=352 height=123}

Note: Broken shadows are very likely only a qutebrowser rendering bug since they don't show up on Brave.
Note 2: Firefox is unaffected.
Note 3: It's possible that this is a Chromium rendering bug, but it hasn't been fixed for almost a month.

Bug seriousness

  • How annoying it is: Not much
  • How often does it happen: Always
  • How many people does it affect: Anyone that has non-default column sizes that are sufficiently big enough; arguably not many.
  • Is there a workaround for it: Unknown

This was previously issue 1387 before GitLab DB rollback.
