Implement backend-based reply filtering
Ahoy,
I've updated to latest FE, which is at commit 748e9c52
I used filtering in the TL: settings > filtering > Replies in timeline: "Only show replies directed at me or users I'm following"
I'm seeing a couple of bugs. I saw in other issues related to filtering that apparently this whole thing is a bit broken, but these are issues I see that I didn't found on the issue tracker yet:
-
I see a post from someone who I'm following that seems to be a reply to someone I'm not following (and only mentioning that other user). There is no "Reply to" thing in the post, but from context I assume it is a reply. If this really is a reply, it shouldn't be shown.
-
I see a post from someone I'm following that is a reply to a post from someone I'm not following, so I would expect not to see the post. The post does mention someone I am following.
- If this is not a bug but expected behaviour, then maybe the text can be changed to "Only show replies mentioning me or users I'm following" (so "mentioning" instead of "directed at").
-
I open a thread. All posts of the thread show up (this is OK), however when I hoover the 'Reply to' link of a post that was collapsed in the TL, it only shows a small line instead of a pop-up containing the post it replied to. (I assume the fe is still collapsing this)

The "Up-to-date" part on top of the TL shows when new posts arrive and how many, but it also shows and counts posts that are filtered out.
