I'm not sure if we want to rename "The Whole Known Network" to something else. Using the "fediverse" branding to be consistent with Mastodon may be a good idea, but it is something we should discuss.

No, “Global” doesn’t reflect how the fediverse works, a instance doesn’t see everything. (“Federated” doesn’t works either)

Also I don’t really see a significant difference between “Observable” and “The Whole Known”.

5 characters, 2 words. Observable is more encompassing term but a bit more complex term, "the whole known" is more simpler but using more words.

The point was making a word play on Observable universe^[W] (also known as "The known universe") and "Fediverse" (which itself a portmanteau of "universe" and "federated")

Could also use "Known Fediverse"

I also think that doesn't really matter for translations since some languages use different terms for it, like Russian calls it (literally) "Federated timeline" (actually "Federated strip")
