all posts show as having one nonexistant repeat/boost after moving from stable to develop

every status that i make on my instance running develop has a repeat count of one even if nobody has interacted with it. repeats by other users will increment the repeat count to 2 and so forth. using mastofe or subway tooter, listing who has repeated the status will not show a user for the initial repeat but will show all subsequent repeats.

this started happening when i switched my instance from stable (around v1.1.5 at the time) to develop. this is the only visible issue from having done so, from what i can tell.
