Federation seems to be broken since upgrade to 2.5.0

Environment

  • Installation type (OTP or From Source): From Source
  • Pleroma version (could be found in the "Version" tab of settings in Pleroma-FE): 2.5.0
  • Elixir version (elixir -v for from source installations, N/A for OTP): Elixir 1.13.4 (compiled with Erlang/OTP 24)
  • Operating system: FreeBSD 13.1
  • PostgreSQL version (psql -V): psql (PostgreSQL) 13.5

Bug description

Hi,

I upgraded from 2.4.5 to 2.5.0 yesterday, and since then federation does not seems to work anymore: I'm unable to follow people, and this morning I got only two messages from already followed users from an external instance (mamot.fr). I checked on external instances and people posted toots that I don't see on my local account. Also, I have a test account on a Mastodon instance and sending/receiving direct messages to/from it does not work.

I have a few bots running on my instance to get messages from Twitter and I still see their "toots", which make me think of a federation issue, but I may be wrong.

I don't see any suspicious errors in the logs, appart from the "Rate limiter disabled" message I already saw in issues.

Any idea on what's happening ? As there was numerous migrations applied on the database, I think I can't simply rollback to 2.4.5 😞

Thanks in advance for your help,

-- Nicolas
