Licenses missing
I have not seen licenses, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and that is missing in Pleroma.
Please see the original Terms of Service on GNU Social, which is the forerunner to Fediverse: https://gnusocial.club/doc/tos
Please see the original Privacy Policy on GNU Social: https://gnusocial.club/doc/privacy
Please verify the bottom of every page on https://gnusocial.club to be: All GNU Social Club content and data are available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.
Users are getting confused on Fediverse, as they think the content is something they control, but it is not so.
Mastodon also does not have well defined policy, it is unclear. However, as soon as content arrives by Federation to some of instances with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, it becomes licensed that way and regardless what other instance or user intended with it. For example user can say "all rights reserved" but as soon as content is published that makes no sense any more, and it is re-licensed
I wish that Pleroma makes it clear on every page that All Pleroma content and data are available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license just as GNU Social as to bring clarity to users.
And that there are links implemented to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
The licensing of the content is if not paramount and foundation to Fediverse.
It also implies that any uploading of content copyrighted by third parties, such as pictures, images, videos, sound, is violation of copyright of third parties, and users shall be warned about, as when it comes to the legal issue, which will sooner or later start coming like mad, administrators will be forced to give users information to authorities.
It is better to teach users from beginning about licensing.
