Don't show reply to link if the parent is invisible

i would still show reply link but with a icon or something, but main point would be hiding posts that are broken replies entirely with an opt-in option to disable hiding.

Or just add "Unavailable" at the end? I'd avoid an icon it's a bit unclear and mobile can't hover to see what it means.

I too would want to filter these posts out completely but I get not everyone might want that

The filtering for these kinds of posts in the timeline can generally be done with the reply_visibility option on timeline, see https://docs-develop.pleroma.social/backend/API/differences_in_mastoapi_responses/#timelines. The following option is probably the most relevant to pleroma.

how about just strikethrough like "Reply to" ? then I think it would be pretty clear

not very intuitive (strikethroughs always confuse me) but a decent solution as well

it should be kinda clear once you try hover / press it and it gives you "Status unavailable"

Yeah, it's not 'intuitive', but it is discoverable, so sounds fin eto me.
