Video clips without audio aren't treated as GIFs
Many web apps will convert GIFs into short video clips (typically MP4 files) without an audio track, and will present such files in the manner of a GIF image if they are uploaded, complete with automatic playback as one would expect from a GIF.
A certain other ActivityPub implementation does exactly this. On mobile, a tap on the image will start playback.
I don't always know, as a user, if such clips will have audio or not. If I'm listening to music or otherwise don't want to be disturbed by audio from video clips (which may include screamers), I'll be hesitant about clicking the play button, even if I may want to see the clip without audio.
Note: This is not a request to have all actual GIF images converted to video.
