Mobile side drawer

Merged Shpuld Shpludson requested to merge feature/replace-panel-switcher into develop

Replaces panel switching altogether:

  • Adds a new menu button on nav bar on mobile, removes all the small icons
  • Adds a side drawer that opens from the menu button, side drawer contains all navigation links
  • Adds chat back to mobile (very unrefined when it comes to the styles
  • Adds search field to user search route, so the user search input box isn't necessary in nav bar
  • For now removes the nav bar back button too

    Multi-form posting!

But seems to be minor thing for now.

Another thing is that logo can overlap the instance name at some resolutions and depending on instance name's length i suppose.

And some instances might even opt-in for left-aligned logo instead of instance name...

  • Author Maintainer

yeah I realize it can look messy with some logos (just as before), left aligned logo on the other hand should be just fine.

multi form posting and multi chat posting are known minor issues, doubt it will cause any problems

Looks amazing overall, small nitpickings. Thanks for the tests!

  • Can this thing be merged already?

  • Contributor

@succfemboi not until all discussions are resolved...

  • Can the drawer be configured to be on the other side so it can be used easily with both hands even on too-wide handhelds?

  • Author Maintainer

currently no, but you can close it by swiping if you don't want to reach to the side

It would be nice to see the "Post New Status" option turned into a button that hovers over the timeline (like Tusky does it for example). Seems like it would be way more usable. Opening the drawer to compose a status seems clunky.

Other than that, this is really great.

  • Author Maintainer

yeah that was planned, that's for later as well as redesigning the post status form potentially
