if it's supposed to be a "bot account" it should be "Bot account: yes/no", "actor type" is way too confusing.

Eh? Pleroma-be neither has a profile directory nor allows for setting bot account flag

Group and Organization are good for some accounts. Application is a little confusing to me, but the ActivityStream standard contains it.

Ah, my favorite. Confusing protocol shit that makes it harder to make better UX.

Can it be "This account is a" instead of "Actor type"? It's confusing what's an "actor" is to anyone who doesn't know AP

Although i'm not entirely sure it's a good idea for a user to mark an account as a group. Service(bot) or appilcation might not be a good idea either but a bit more passable.

This doesn't really explain anything, and adding [Recommended] is a bad idea

I see. How about List this account on the federated directories of some Mastodon instances?

that's a bit ambiguous and misleading, plus mentions one specific implementation.

Maybe "appear in user searches" or something? What does it actually do, exactly? What are "federated directories of some Mastodon instances"?

I'm closing this MR for focusing only the Allow user discovery services preference in #2214.
