This is not about authoring the image descriptions, but viewing them. Usually done with a mouseover on the image, which is fine for desktop. I have no clue what good UX there could be for mobile. Unless we just display the description as part of the image gallery on both desktop and mobile?

Does this need to be more obvious or more pronounced? If so, for what type of user?
